I tell you chinese car companies really have the dumbest naming convention.

BEI YAN DIU
SEAL
DOLPHIN

Who the heck would want to be seen driving anything with such a name on it?

What's wrong with having animal names like BYD Dolphin, Seal, Sealion? Just ocean creatures although the cars don't resemble them.

Ford Mustang, VW Beetle, Perodua Kancil, Fiat Panda, Dodge Viper ok only.

Then again, we have cars that don't have animal names but have certain attributes: Vios Dugong, Persona Lipas, Civic Ketam.

Nothing wrong of course, until your entire lineup starts sounding like an aquarium's cast list. BYD Dolphin, Seal, Sealion—what’s next? BYD Jellyfish EV? The Crabby Cruiser? The Flowerhorn GT? It's like they didn’t name a car—they adopted a pet.
At least when Ford named a car Mustang, it screamed horsepower and American muscle.

For BYD's case, they did say it's their ocean series line up where the designs were somewhat inspired by the ocean.

BYD Shark sounds nice though.

I just ordered a BYD Tilapia
