those who hope for china to crash or US to crash, is crazy.
Both of these countries are the dominant economy superpower. any one of them falls economically, will spell disaster for world economy, and all countries will be affected.

lets just hope they can find a solution peacefully through negotiation.

to me, trump folds or not, xjp folds or not is not the main issue.

China should keep the US Tariff....clearly show who is the WINNER

No point as tariff will hurt them too but not as bad as US hurting themselves.

China still needs the Boeings to replace their ageing fleets and COMAC can't replace all. COMAC also need parts from US and even though they have stocks for 2 years, it will not be enough for long term.

In this case, Trump folding is good for us and the rest of the world.

If China kiss his ass, what do you think will happen to other countries especially smaller countries like us? Trump will bully us kao kao and we just have to accept whatever he dictates.

No matter how you hate China, in this issue, we need to support them as they are basically tanking for the rest of the world.

i know, china not backing down in the initial stage, does help other countries in negotiation with US. but you have to understand too that, china is not in the position to back down, mainly is because of china position as economy superpower, internal pressure from the its people and to make a stance that trade is beneficial to both countries, not because they want to help other countries in negotiation with US.

but china do have its own homework to do, which is domestic consumption. their government does recognize this issue, and for years has been trying to push their own consumption, but the public is not making any/slow progress. i recognize their effort, but the effect is not showing at the moment.

It's just a gimmick, a charade. It's just a trade gimmick, a charade. If you have lived your life long enough, you will be able to see through all their tricks and comprehend the game they are playing.

Of course, we know that China standing firm is for their own benefit, but we do need to acknowledge that they are the ones who are bearing the full brunt of Trump's tantrums. You look at Japan, they even go to US but still can't make a deal because Trump and his team are totally clueless about what they want. Trump is someone who thrive on showmanship. He needs a "win" in everything he does but when it comes to internation politics, you can't act like that as both sides need to win something in whatever negotiation. His Art of Deal is you just have to take whatever I say, and it is not feasible when it comes to international politics. It fared badly when Zelensky visited White House.

As for China internal consumption, this is a problem they trying to solve since the past 5 years. We have seen the potential of such consumption in Nezha 2. If China's population is willing to spend, there are enormous potential to be self-sufficient but old habits die hard. It's the Chinese mentality of saving for rainy day. I am sure a lot of Malaysians also have such mentality. On top of that, the pandemic has left a lot of people in China with uncertainty and when people are unsure, they are even more reluctant to spend.

The funny thing is China and US people need to campur a bit. US people need to save more and not buy so much on credit while China people need to take more risk and spend more
