Mine is in the living room, and the fiber line given is quite short so I can't really adjust the location to be more centralize in the house. I am using 500mbps, and getting about 30mbps in the room with 2.4ghz. 5ghz can't connect well at all.

After adding mesh wifi are you getting the full speed? I am planning to continue using wireless for my PC so maybe adding a mesh in the other room to boost the signal.

I just switched to the SWU 5.0 RM90 for 500 Mbps deal. I didn't realise there was a free WiFi 6 router with that but Unifi called up to say that there was. The brands available are TP Link and Fibre Home. Which of these are better?

Also, my last deal came with mesh Fibre Home routers but I got them to set them up and stored them away as I have been using my old Asus 86 AC router.

I will just ask them to set this new one up and unplug it to keep as a backup.

What details or settings do I need to ask for from the technician when he comes?

anyone also experiences slow steam store pages? all these fiber speed are useless sometimes when doing simple things like browsing website took ages and multipl refresh to load. X also has been unusable for months now, pictures barely got to load.

youtube, meta websites speed are fine. how is resetting those hardware helps with these random long load times?
