Anyone using DIR-X3060Z?

My customer is using this router and I just found out that there is no firewall for IPv6 on this Telekom router. The current firmware is DIR-X3060Z_240719_1.0.6, is this the latest firmware?

Checked in the settings and there is no option for IPv6 firewall, weird.

Any worthwhile benefit that the extra RM40 provides that I should consider?.

Both are perfectly fine for basic requirement.

Have you tried contacting Telekom? Maybe they can replace it for free, no harm to ask.

Google search "my ip". Compare to the WAN IP in your router. If different then it is private IP.

Mine is in the living room, and the fiber line given is quite short so I can't really adjust the location to be more centralize in the house. I am using 500mbps, and getting about 30mbps in the room with 2.4ghz. 5ghz can't connect well at all.

After adding mesh wifi are you getting the full speed? I am planning to continue using wireless for my PC so maybe adding a mesh in the other room to boost the signal.

Get PowerLine kit and WiFi router.

Or DIY routing an ethernet cable to the position you want for the new WIFi router.

That's expensive. Rm90 SWU 5.0 for 500mbps versus Rm89 for 100mbps.
Plus stuck for 3 years contract.

It depends if you can fully use or needed that faster speed.

Speed is secondary.

Private IP vs public IP makes the key difference.

Public IP make no sense for most user, and we have IPv6 now, and service like Wireguard make it so easy for casual user.

Unfortunately, Wireguard is among the many affected services by CGNAT. You will need to switch over to Tailscale instead. Good luck.

I meant to say Tailscale, which is build on top of Wireguard.

Hi

I just switched to the SWU 5.0 RM90 for 500 Mbps deal. I didn't realise there was a free WiFi 6 router with that but Unifi called up to say that there was. The brands available are TP Link and Fibre Home. Which of these are better?

Also, my last deal came with mesh Fibre Home routers but I got them to set them up and stored them away as I have been using my old Asus 86 AC router.

I will just ask them to set this new one up and unplug it to keep as a backup.

What details or settings do I need to ask for from the technician when he comes?

Thanks

I would take TP-Link.

Just the usual WAN, IPTV and Wi-Fi setup.

Speed test means nothing. Upload to a real server to test, for example, a cloud storage.
