What will be the cost of setting up courier point with own shop.

If u able to say.... havled ur shop, go for better reputation one i.e. MBE, approx. RM150K including licensing, training, setup etc.
If u merely become collection point... go find SPX talk

Other than MBE, what can I looking for? Other brand seem like can only serve the order of specific brand.

Parcel hub?

Open to any idea which can boost the traffic to shop. I even surveyed possibbilty to be mini dobi shop by getting old washing machine. But being parcel hub or etc seem to be better priority.

Except if say.... within 1-2km radius, there are no other courier/collection point, other sub brand might be okay, else u need something strong and wide support, MBE.

Many small ones, such as Parcel Hub, CollectCo, many many more, but like u say, they have limited courier partners, lack of reputation which ppl might worry on trustwortiness, etc.

Of coz, they have lower entry fees, but ur sales u need forecase urself ady... Also, ya, MBE might not guarantee sales also ya

within 1-1.5km no other hub, but location is quite painful issue. And hardly has data to conduct due diligence study. might need to look for lower entry one to test water.

Not suggest dobi unless you really into it..Dobi usually need heavy duty washing machine else awhile kong already.
Plus u need gas license in order to get the dryer.

courier point also ok, but if ur location not strategic need put alot banner to advertise lo. and survey nearest collection point see whether they have many parcels. if they also not many parcels then no point

Any clue the market rate of earning per collection and etc? I know it was only few cents and need to process hundreds of parcel to recoup license fee. But boosting traffic for store is matter also

A CollectCo point nearby my place seems to be doing quite well. It's main business is a small hardware store which seems to have not much customers these days. The owner now has 2 foreigners to man the shop and help with the parcels.

It's located inside a housing taman and will mostly be overcapacity during those big 1.1, 2.2 Shopee sales. Shopee is also pushing customers to use these collection points with their discount coupons since it's cheaper for them to subsidize, so it's a good option to consider.

But of course do your research first to see if your location is suitable for one.

Location actually awkward but within 1-2km no other service provider

If it's situated within walking distance from residential units, then it might do ok as it can be a very convenient pick up point. The one near me has several other CollectCo points within 1-2km, but it being surrounded by houses and nearby apartments gave it an added edge. It's very unlikely for me to drive out and find parking just to pick up a small parcel unless it's at a mall or something. I'll just pay for direct home delivery to save the hassle lol.

For spx collection point, quite straightforward.

Need to be able to hold minimum 60 parcels of variable size.

Each parcel earns you about 60 cents to rm4 if big bulky items. Problem is u must ensure safe collection so need to spare a space with storage and arrange things. Otherwise it will be messy and hard to find things.

Other licensees parcel hub collection services is not worth the price. U need large quantities to recoup the cost as even lowest entry point is 75k and need higher insurance coverage as well.

So family business perhaps as simple collection point and can directly advertise yourself as collection point for convenience too with surcharge as well if u like.

Half the space for keys / locksmith. They seem to be doing well.

Got contacted by few agent. One with lower entry price and one with 5 figure license cost

Low price option,

The commision for each drop each, return and pick up is extremely low,far lower than figure you mention, high volume may not justifiy the cost also considering may need extra manpower to handle.
Offer the chance to sell parcel service of other courier brand, might able to gain other profit from selling packaging stuff.
also able to provide other service but commision is extremely low also
ROI less than one years but commision may be too low to justified extra overhead and manpower cost if got high volume
