Anyone have experience with Netflix account sharing ? My gf today just signed up and paid for a netflix subscription. She chose the 60+ package which allows to share up to 4 person, her idea is to find friends or even strangers to split the monthly bill together, but this means that sharing her netflix account with others right ? Or how does it works ?

Just before anyone ask, her Netflix account's email and password is a totally different one with her other socials and emails.

Her Netflix account's email and password will be shared with 4 people, These 4 people will be using the same email and password to sign in.

Then these 4 can have their own profile where you can put a 4-digit pin code.

Since Netflix is cracking down on sharing, when Netflix detects a different IP sign in, it will prompt you it is not the same household and block you. Then your friend will need to text you to get a temp code. So it is ver annoying that your GF will keep receiving texts from the other for the temp code.

they won't allow her to share with ppl who are not on the same wifi. what you can do is, get the friend to sign up as "extra member" under her.

1 or 2 extra members, is dependent on what package she currently subscribe to

Very annoying but can save u some money.

Two scenario here.

A) all 4 ppl use same username and password. But it will prompt u the annoying message about detecting conflicting household IP. and u need to do verification through email. You can make your life easier by setting up automatic email forwarding (google this step), the ppl sharing this account can do verification on the spot. REGISTER A NEW EMAIL JUST FOR THIS ACCOUNT so your life can be 100x easier, DO NOT use your personal email.

B) choose the premium plan (RM62.9) and then sign up two extra member at RM13 each. Total will be close to rm100 with tax etc. THen u split the bill 3 way and share among 3 ppl. this way u dont have to do verification.

C) same as B. but instead share with 4ppl, and then split another two extra member. So 6 ppl sharing. 4 ppl need use verification while the two extra member can avoid verification. Pricing u sendiri split.

I have been using C method, but split 1 line only. Share with siblings and cousin. I strongly suggest sign up new email for this shit. Then make sure everyone set up auto payment and collect 6 months advance, best if u can make seperate bank account to keep track of payment. Make your life easier.

tnc said only can allow sharing account with the family member in the same household. dont complain if you share account suddenly doenst work.

I used to do method B, share with 2 ppl from lyn, then decided Netflix is not worth it at all.

That time premium plan still RM55+RM13 extra member+RM13 extra member. Wow price increase

There is a way to bypass it but annoying as well. At least for phone.
I don't use Netflix on TV so that's not a concern for me.

I keep ask if my friend want to cancel the subscription since its only me and him sharing. But he still want it, so i just keep it on. Its okay for me.

Easiest way is to create a dummy email to share with everyone. That's what I did. So whenever verification is needed just log in to that email.
