Need Help on network and connection

Good day all,
need ask about TPLink

My Office
New Skyworth from UNIFI (Online) 500mphs

Connect LAN cable to
Archer C1200 v1.0 (also from UNIFI last time, now not router because new UNIFI)
FV: 1.0.0 Build 20170905 rel.41738 (EU)
using as DHCP Server and Wireles Connecting all Printer (6 printer, all EPSON)

Connect LAN cable to
Archer AX10 v1.20
FV: 1.1.5 Build 20201230 Rel. 40465(5553)
using as connecting Wireless ALL Office PC, which got around 18pc and server, all using random dhcp ip

Both location at 1st Floor and Server(but cosider a little high-end pc, sharing file and some SQL software)

Problem now is my ground floor connection very slow running SQL software connect server.
Sometime printing also slow. (this i think because WIFI is different, but 2 round put togther and connecting using LAN

1)What problem the slow?
2)Do need change the DHCP Server to Archer AX10?
3)Or direct using this new Skyworth as router, dhcp as main? (anyone comment about this Skyworth? good?)
4)normally LAN cable support 100mps? got LAN cable support 1000mps, as i see LAN maks is 1000, right?

1) only main router should be giving out DHCP.
2) set any other router as ap.
3) wifi clients and printers can connect to single SSID, shouldn't be any real need to segregate devices.
4) any utp cat5e and above should be good for gigabit speed.
5) server pls use utp cable to connect.
6) pray to the network gods it work.

Check the following :-

1. Ensure only 1 single DHCP is enabled in the network, there cannot be 2 DHCP in the same network.

2. Ensure All Wifi routers (except the incoming Unifi) have Fixed IP Address configured.

3. Ensure those Wifi routers are configured as AP (Access Point) mode.

4. Ensure the LAN cables to connected to the Wifi routers are NOT on WAN/Internet port, use LAN1-4 ports instead.

5. Ensure the Server connected via LAN cable & with Fixed IP Address too.

6. Verify the SSIDs are separated from 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz frequency.

Update your findings again, and if possible for a more clearer picture of how your network is... draft a simple network diagram & post here, sometimes it helps much better to understand your situation instead of us using our imagination by translating your words.

hope this helps... cool2.gif

Thanks both Sifu
1) yup. only 1 dhcp setting now, but using the old router, should i change to skyworth? or the AX1200 new one?
2) i use auto. because more flexible(for PC, Handphone). but printer and other, i use fixed, which setup using MAC
3) this one will try soon. after i confirm which dchp modem use,
4) yup. using LAN
5, 6) me here no more use LAN cable, so server which also using WIFI, and fixed ip

** i try sketch the setting, but very easy, just all using WIFI, because all LAN cable has been take out 2years ago.
Donno is the server(normal high end pc, maybe old already) or other problem, after add that skyworth switch by UNIFI

1. Since its a new router (aka Skyworth) from Unifi, use that as DHCP.

2. No problems with Auto DHCP, just ensure the range of the DHCP doesn't conflicts with Fixed IP range. For me, I will usually leave some range:-

--> 192.168.0.1 ~10 --> Leave for Fixed IP.
--> 192.168.0.11 ~ 200 --> For auto DHCP.
--> 192.168.0.201 ~ 254 --> Leave for Fixed IP.

But its up to you how you want to configure the DHCP range.

3. For this you may need to Google around for that specific make/model on how to configure the old routers as AP mode, some manufacturer called it "Bridge" while others just plain "Access Point". You need to find out the correct configuration mode.

6. The server is best to be connected with LAN cable to ensure consistent data transmit, using Wifi for server is NOT RECOMMENDED due to the fact Wifi maybe congested at times causing data loss/corrupt.

As for the drawings, a simple Excel file with boxes and text will do just fine.

Hope to hear from you soon... cool2.gif

update
my server(PC) using Intel Dual Band Wireless AC7265, should i change it?
1) i will try this, will update soon. just now using, this skyworth wireless seemnot stable, some pc connect it, got internet down sometime.
2)yup. i set range 50~100 for auto, which all pc here. 101~150 for fixed ip like modem, router, cctv, hik, printer, and etc
3) Bridge look like mesh.... but if enough, maybe not going to mesh.
6. understand should server using LAN, but as cable not available now, i will try bridge using AP connect main Router using LAN cable to AP using LAN cable to Server.

Maybe you can try relocate that Server near the Skyworth Router, so you can use LAN cable instead.

Ya, some manufacturer naming convention is confusing but give it try.

Yupe sometimes free routers are not the best, but if you are under tight budget might as well make of it. Maybe you can try configure the old routers with separate SSIDs each.
Example :
Router-1
--> 1st_Flr_2.4G
--> 1st_Flr_5G

Router-2
--> Grd_Flr_24G
--> Grd_Flr_5G

It may be confusing but at least it will works, if you happens to have some budget, do consider getting TP-Link Deco series (MESH Wifi), as its kind of cheap nowdays lar... since you don;t have any LAN cables available.

But still the decisions is yours to make... we just recommend only... hahaha... cool2.gif
