OnePlus 13 is a great phone, even better than Samsung S25U I might say. However with Trump currently going crazy with China, you never know if Trump decided to treat OnePlus like Huawei and block access to Google. I know many people will side load apps but still, it's a bit troublesome and not to mention no more security update for Android.

Personally, safer bet is to go with Apple or Samsung for those ultra performance phone.

Anyway, enjoy your OnePlus 13 if you already have it.

Most likely that won't be the case. Even if sanction happen to OnePlus, it won't be affecting old device, the 1 that will be affected will be upcoming device after sanction.

Using Google and it services won't be an issue for those device pre sanction. What might happen is whether manufacturer will be keen to provide timely update to old device.

Yup if go for Samsung flagship & apple then surely won't face any problem. Reality is those willing to fork out the money to buy Samsung flagship or apple won't even consider flagship of OnePlus, honor and others china flagship. Exception will be those from vivo because of it excellent camera performance.

Just look at the number of pages of thread for flagship device. The popularity of the device speak for itself.

Kinda true but these days flagship Honor, Xiaomi and even Huawei phone are basically about same price range as Samsung. Camera spec wise, those phones might be better but for software support, I think Samsung is still the best among the bunch. As for Apple, well... if you're into iOS camp then you don't really have a choice, right?

As for Google services pre sanction device, I won't be so sure. This round Trump administration can and will do anything as they like. Heck, they have current free trade agreement with Australia but guess what, they still impose tariff on Australia (which has been paused for 90 days). This goes to show that the current administration doesn't give a damn what is already on paper today as they choose to do what they like tomorrow. Let's not forget that Honor is basically another branch of Huawei.

Anyway, hope it won't happen so those folks out there can still enjoy their Honor, Xiaomi phones for as long as possible.

Their launch price is around the same or just slightly lower than Samsung. The thing is no people will buy those china phone at their launch price, mostly will just wait them to drop price massively post launch.

It's true that in term of support, Samsung is better. Camera wise video taking they are still the best and photo most probably only vivo is better. The rest of flagship like Xiaomi & honor are fail at their software level post processing although it come with better hardware and resulting in poor image/video quality.

Sanction wise I don't think it will affect google usability on pre sanction device like what I am saying previously. It's just a matter of whether they willing to provide support/update to those device pre sanction. China phone got a track record of slowing down update after new model launch anyway. If got sanctioned then it might be worst. Just I don't see the need for them to sanction other china phone brand. Those phone doesn't place a threat as market share is relatively small and their relation to china gov is not as deep as Huawei.

I insert L-shape usb-c earphone.
The phone drop to floor vertically and the L-shape usb-c hit the floor.
Then it jam stuck inside.
Forcefully taken out the usb-c.
Now the hole already loose, no clicking feel when insert the usb-c.

USB c is just a small case. Worst case scenario just involving replacing the USB c flex pcb. Just a problem of order for part, replacement wise need to open out a phone.

It's an easy job for service centre & phone repair shop. Those repair shop surely will potong you for at least 200 and above. 2 year back my ancient mate 10 pro USB port spoiled and not able to charge. At that point of time those repair shop quote me around 250 to 300 to fix it.

At the end, I am ordering part myself flex pcb, screen glue and the suction cup and got it fix for less than 30. Just sharing my experience here, in your case your phone is new. Just send it to official service centre and told them it suddenly become like this after u pull out the USB c cable. Better don't diy yourself, there are risk of damaging your glass black plate and screen in the process of replacement.

Hi... May I know is there any Global rom available for Oneplus 13 yet?
I'm consider to upgrade my current phone (Oneplus 7T - CN set change to Global rom by seller) to Oneplus 13. Thanks

**Oneplus 7T still work fine with me and it's the best decision I ever get, so I will stay with Oneplus smile.gif

Global rom availability? Just get an official Malaysia set and you will be on global rom by default with warranty and after sales service. No point to get a cn set.... The price difference is not much

Not much different? :/
I'm looking for 16GB/512GB unit - From Lazada/Shopee : CN set around RM3200 +/- while MY set RM4200 +/- … that's around 1K difference. T.T
*
It's not exactly different 1k. With coin and voucher during platform sales the price will be lower than 4k. Somemore cn set are prone to delay notification, some face Android auto problem and without after sales service and warranty.

Yes you did save a little but it come with a price. For me it's not worth the hassle.

Okay sure... I already bought MY set for RM3888 just now via Shopee.  smile.gif
Hope they give free power adapter (I doubt), else I shall get from Taobao (Oneplus official store).

Congrats on your new phone. Btw, I remember past sales like 4.4 they give free charger and earbuds. 5.5 wise I am not remember whether they are giving same free gift or not.

Currently their offering are not that great. You rushing to get the phone? Or else better wait for 6.6. Now seem like too late as you already ordered via s platform. S platform return experience are generally poorer as it involve getting agreement from seller.

Last 4.4 promotion as below with free bud and charger. After less 10.5% coin the cost go down to 3.5k. without coin it's around 3.9k. It's much better offer.

Yeah... I'm aware I missed the deal in 4/4 and continue move on - Will use OP13 as main and my current OP7T will be backup.

Enjoy your purchase then. Overall it's a good device with a lot of things to play around especially if you are tech savvy and well verse on rooting etc etc. The only thing is don't do it in first year for the sake of warranty.

Damn luckily I read this. Just purchased the op13 on shopee because got rm500 voucher thought it was a good deal, rm3899 after discount but no free gift at all. After reading this, I canceled order and will wait for 6.6 promo, hopefully will be a decent promo.

Ordered some accessories as well so I'll be getting my casing and nillkin curved tempered glass screen protector ready for my phone when I get it.

How long will shipping take usually if purchase during promo time? Will be leaving the country on 13/6 so hopefully it can arrive before that...
*
Nowadays quite fast because the promotion is like monthly basis and normally within a week will get. I think the only time where shipping is slightly slower is during 11.11 or 12.12 year end.

Any limitations of the CN version? Everything works as usual and expected? I don't mind to use Color OS as its very similar to Oxygen OS now.

Reddit can provide some insight to you. Apparently someone already asked about CN vs global there and plenty of discussion apparently.

https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/1...hina_rom_is_it/

Seem like CN version will have problem with Google related services including Android auto. Notification and missing band support.

Normally global version support more network band and less prone for issue if go overseas or even use it in Malaysia. Which band that's missing that 1 I think you have to dig for info yourself.

Last time they gift free charger plus buds so price difference is not that high. Now they stop giving it and selling at the same price so it's a bit difficult to shallow price difference between cn and global set.

Global set is for peace of mind, hassle free and come with official after sales service. Worth to pay a premium to get it or not is up to u. For me I rather pay more to get something that is working well instead of pay cheaper and risking of regretting later.

Let's say price different between cn and global set is 1k, if you use the device for 2 years then per month different is around rm42. The difference will be lower if the device can survive longer and you willing to continue using it. If you get cn set and regretting halfway then the damage will be higher.

I just got the China version with ColorOS 15. If your company is using Google Workspace that setups a separate work profile, this won't work. sad.gif

Going to sell mine off soon.

Thanks for the sharing. For piece of mind, really have to go with official set. Anyway good luck in selling your unit out.
