Question for china rom users. How do you setup the phone on initial start?

I am coming from pixel and even though there's google play services and playstore.

I resort to the built in clone phone app to transfer the apps and data over.

Any way to setup the phone like pixel?


Another issue I have is too much bloatware and many of the apps/settings seems to be built for china only, and there's no english. For some reason it is also slow to load for these apps. The theme store where you can buy custom theme loads at a crawl.

There's also things that are built into the system and cannot be removed. The AI writer seems to only function for china apps like wechat, xhs, etc.

What features are unique with the One UI?

Coming from Pixel, I do notice the difference in camera processing. Sometimes it can take a great picture, but somehow I notice it ended up blurry more often. Have to learn to use the action mode if the subject is moving.


Question to people using CN set and color OS, I am facing some issues where some apps specific to color os seems to take a long time to load, example is the theme store, music, etc. It take a long time to load, if it even load.

Also, coming from google assistant, I am giving the assistant from color os a try , Breeno/ XiaoBu, typing or talking to it seems to work ok. Notice that chinese questions will be replied faster. However I am facing some issues uploading any pictures. Is it because of some settings that I accidentally turned off?

What screen protector do you guys use?

Been using tempered glass screen protector for previous phone but this is my first curved phone. Thinking of trying the UV film screen protector.

Is UV film screen protector bad? Im against tpu screen protector due to the rubbery feeling and easily have marks.

So would you recommend this type of uv film screen protector?

Do you know whether the UV solidify the film top surface?Or it works like traditional UV glue screen protector where you have to pour liquid glue on the screen and put UV to make sure all edges are sticking to the phone screen?

Reason im curious is because i've read about the bad thngs the UV glue does on the screen and orginal screen coating and the risk it have where the glue clogged the earpiece.

Does this kind of tempered glass screen protector have black edges that cover the screen a little?

I did see for OP13, there's black edges on the screen protector but not sure if it covers the screen or not.

What email apps you guys use? I notice my hotmail have issues with notification when i use gmail app. Need to open the app before the email come in , eventhough i already set the necessary autolaunch/ enable background in settings.

Tested the hotmail account on the phone's default mail app and the notifications are coming in with no problem.
