What We Know
After iterating on the beloved Black Bay 58 and introducing a smaller Black Bay 54, Tudor has jumped forward to a new, bigger Black Bay announcement that looks to serve customers that found the collection too dainty. This is the Black Bay 68 in a new 43mm case with a METAS chronometer movement, more traditional three-link bracelet with micro-adjust, and two dial color options.

Tudor black bay 68
You've just read the highlights above but the new Black Bay 68 comes in a domed sun-brushed silver or Tudor Blue dial, eschewing any gold accents in the same way that the bracelet gets rid of the faux-rivets some people have disliked with other bracelets from the brand. That means you get a pretty distinctly modern look but in an even larger case than the Tudor Black Bay "Monochrome" from last year that was only 41mm, for the larger-wristed people. It's also powered by the slightly larger Manufacture Calibre MT5601-U.

What We Think
Everyone tells me that I need to be wearing bigger watches as a taller guy. But the first "serious" watch purchase I ever made was the Black Bay 58, which feels like nearly the perfect watch to me. While Tudor rightfully points out that there is a demand for a wider variety of sizing (while not sacrificing quality), I'm quite surprised to see Tudor go so big. I'm not sure I see the appeal when the 41mm Monochrome is so great. On the other hand, the brand is giving people a lot of things that they've begged for like micro-adjust bracelets and no faux-rivets on a three-link bracelet. Is it exactly what I want? No, but it's close enough, and that's what I've become accustomed to for a lot of releases.

Tudor Black Bay 68
It's funny to me that Tudor is calling this the Black Bay 68, and the snowflake hands that are used on this and almost all other Tudor models didn't come out until 1969 (by the brand's own record and press release). Yes, that's now a signature of the brand and a way to differentiate from the "Mercedes" hands still used by Rolex, but why not call it the Black Bay 69 or Black Bay 70?

-colon shud b positioned centrally with spaces before n after the metric/imperial conversions
-why is there no space for metric unit of measurement but one for imperial?

oso AM spelling seems to b the norm these days - meter vs metre

How the conversation started: "You can't afford a Submariner?"
