people always like to meme about material wealth doesn't matter. But having zero material wealth have real repercussions, like starving to death, sick and no money to treat, etc. They are always worse off than the trust fund baby.

i believe it is different spectrum of mental illness ba, the destitute ones alot turn to drugs, the super wealthy ones also turn to drugs to cope with their mental health. It is those extreme environments, either caused by having alot of wealth, or having zero wealth, that causes mental health issues.

But other than that, wealth itself doesn't cause mental issues, it is how you cope with stress, outlook of life, having balanced or great expectations then not meeting them, etc. It is just those living under extreme conditions that is ill prepared to cope with such issues, unlike normal middle-class people.
