No harm trying. Also call 997 to report the scam, but if it's already few days then you may not be able to get your money back. At leasst the person and the bank account already being reported.
Btw there's also a suggestion I read somewhere. You could transfer multiple time Rm0.01 and put "Scammer" as reference to hopefully raise some alert.

Maybe not much of what 997 can do, but like you said, you want to do your part by reporting it. So, just go ahead and report to 997.
