 Cukai Taksiran ownership not changed, House has been sold since 2022

Hi guys, just wanted to ask anyone with experience in this.

I've sold a property at 2022 and all is already off hand by then .

today received a DBKL chaser call and saying I have tunggakan Cukai Taksiran from that property because the buyer didnt change / bother to pay.

Am I in a way liable for this? I thought it's a must for all new owner to change ownership upon the completion of purchase?

I wonder why lawyer didn't do the work..

Name should be changed across all platforms.

no idea on this, i doubt the lawyer even do much after changing hand which is poor

Anyway.. Not your worries..

New owner of my old place also hasn't checked indah water bill.. Now haven't paid for 1 year.. Lol.. I removed it from my app. Out of sight. Out of mind. Not my problem anymore.

have you checked your local majlis bandaraya (or DBKL?) if your name is still in there for that sold property, just in case?

i checked the dbkl apps with the cukai ID (luckily i still have a copy) and found my name still there with the outstanding

also about this, because when i sold the unit it was a rushed (upon VP) and i haven't gotten any bill from IWK So no sewerage account number. i couldn't check if the name was changed. will i be liable if the new buyer did not change the name too?

IW not under name. It's under house unit. Iirc

If your lawyer didn't do due diligence. Not your problem.. But I think your lawyer has done all calculation.. And will do final conclusion. Who owes who..

yup he did. i made all the payment accordingly and cleared outstanding before the final handover. so when i found out this DBKL i also headache. luckily i manage to get the buyer contact from him and she mention will do the due diligence. hopefully no hanky panky thing

If the buyer can cooperate then hopefully everything can goes well.

iirc local bandaraya always chase the same person as shown in their database (ID) until you change it. The last time I change name with MBSJ said will take about a week for their database to update, but usually tomorrow or day after should be up to date.
