In my case bought 58" Samsung 4k tv with 2 years warranty, around 1 and half years display panel problem, claim for warranty, they replace it with brand new 65" 4k tv

That's the beauty of local warranty by manufacturer πŸ₯ΈπŸ”₯

Why wan to buy from china?
1. Models available there are higher end (not available locally), eg mini-led, very bright HDR with much higher local dimming zones etc
2. Much cheaper price. Eg the model he wants is a TCL 85” mini led with 2.4k Nits, 1.5k LED, 144hz for about rm3.xk. Compare that with local version TCL 85” C755 current price (which is lower spec) and you might understand.

Why worry about buying from china?
1. Warranty claim is hassle. Will need to send the TV back to china. Cost of sending back and return borne by buyer, super expensive. Unlikely will attempt even if TV spoilt.
2. Delivery. The delivery from china to Malaysia when buy is β€œrelatively cheap”. Estimate about rm500 using official logistics. Add about rm100 for a wooden frame for protection. Takes 1 month to arrive. No issue with custom, its not a prohibited item. You can also use own logistic companies, in which you can choose to also buy insurwnce for transportation.
3. The OS will be in china os. Not really android. Cannot uodate with android firmware. Might have some english selection, but hassle. Cant access app store, need to sideload apk (if possible). Usually end up using with either a HTPC or tv box.

Not yet, Still considering however don't mind taking the risk because it's only 35% price of the local TLC 85c755 mini led.

He mentioned pay only 35% compared the price that selling locally for 85" tv

Personally from my point of view, he took high risk just because it's cheap, still huge amount of money his paying even though just 35% compared locally, no warranty which is the downside of it, not worth it πŸ™„πŸ”₯

Totally agree all your points!
1 more thing to concern, now all China TV using 220V voltage, Malaysia using 240V, not sure this will shorter the TV usage life or not?

BTW, i have bought China Xiaomi TV at 2015, using this week my TV panel light is blinking and then no light, look like GG.com ald. But my TV is wide voltage 110-240V, using 9 years+ worth for it

It's about 40kg. The shipping fee is included in the finai quoted price. But not include shipping insurance.

FYI, there's some other forwarder option (yeslogistics/ezbuy etc) so you can skip the sst that's recently included with taobao official forwarder.
Might save a bit and use that money for the insurance

I didnt proceed the TV purchase. Because, before that I've order a music CD player but seller didn't shipping out the item even after 6 weeks and after chatted with him and he said out of stock ask me to wait til Sept.

Anyway, I bought 85" TCL 655 pro here last month 7.7 sale via lazada and very good buy and happy with the price I paid and the picture quality is good

I saw a China brand 115 inches TV at SS2 before. Perhaps it was 1-2 years ago. I think the brand was Xiaomi. They display it near the entrance of the shop.

Can't remember the exact price, it was around 100k+ (Less than 140k, more than 100k). Should be much cheaper now.

100k+ is a lot money. I rather use the money to setup an entertaining room with good projector where you can get bigger than 120" TV screen. Watching movie with good projector is always entertaining and cinema feel.

Personally i am not a fan of projector. I look for very good image quality, example the current monitor i am using is OLED.

If 120" TV screen can be reduced to rm 20-30k one day, i would consider.

P/S1 Current 120 TV is around rm80k as i checked, from Samsung. Xiaomi one should be even cheaper now i guess
P/S2 Projector has high delay/latency, i need a TV instead of a projector due to i use it to watch TV + play games

I used to think 65 was big, then after some times i feel it looks kinda small. After that i got a 85 inch, then now i think it is still not big enough tongue.gif

I saw 98 inches TVs before, i think it is big enough for my taste, but i think the price can't justify the purchase so i am waiting.

As i checked, Samsung Qled 75inches around 25k+-, 98 inches rm 110k+-.

Mine wasn't Qled/MiniLed, the price was i think around 12k+ that time.

I am having an Oled monitor, so i am aiming for Qled/Miniled for my next 98inces TV. But i think will need to wait a freaking long time for the rm100k+ price to be drop to 20-30k.

Well it's unsure for 98 inch to drop within that price range, as for me next year might upgrade to 75 inch but not sure which model at the moment but all i can say either samsung or LG
