Correct, you can't deny the veracity of my claims, due to the mountain of evidence.
The #1 reason why asylum cases are denied is because they simply don't have evidence corroborating their claims.
So it's their word vs. the judge's willingness to believe them, and most judges don't take these claims seriously:
"Oh, I was harassed by extremist groups in my country."
"Oh, the police beat me up for protesting."
"Oh, they tried to put me in jail for being homosexual."
Easy for anyone to say anything without proof or documentation.
In my case, my lawyer asked his assistant to print out every single possible media article on my case (of which there were hundreds) and submit all of it as evidence.
With all the evidence, the only remaining thing to do is to determine if my case falls within the definition of asylum, which it did.
I know in Malaysia mocking religion is considered sedition or a crime, but in the US it's considered unthinkable to even fine someone for their social media posts, let alone throw them in prison.
I was also lucky that I got a sensible judge instead of a woke SJW activist judge.
Mate you got the jackpot, but you worked your ass off and with a will of not giving up. Thanks for replying btw. Been to the states a few times but the taxation and tipping i got confused.
The one thing people ask there is where you are from generally, not what's your religion. I could have had a life overseas but i decided to come back and take care of my sick dad. And that was ages ago.
Too be honest what you did was stupid but it shouldn't have garnered the anger it did. As you can see that kid eating getting slapped, the perpetrator has not been reprimanded.
Do a movie, what we expected has completely backfired.
