Huawei sues Chinese influencer over Maextro S800 luxury sedan criticism

Chinese IT giant Huawei sued a local car influencer for 140,000 USD over Maextro S800 luxury sedan criticism. The blogger responded that he would countersue Huawei for 340,000 USD.

A few weeks ago, Huawei released a series of videos. In the video they compared the S800 to the Mercedes Maybach S680 in various settings, including a ‘crab walk’ test that we covered in a previous article. In one of the other videos, they tested the suspension systems by driving both the S800 and the Maybach S680 through a small pond of water, glass, and sand.
The results showed that the S800 left no trace on the water or other materials. And the Maybach crashed the glass and splashed water everywhere. Huawei promoted this comparison to highlight the S800’s superior driving comfort and its Turing Dragon Architecture, a platform that features a fully integrated architecture, enabling active sensing, central control, intelligent reasoning, and autonomous learning. However, this raised skepticism among car bloggers.

A car influencer Racing Frappuccino (赛车星冰乐) released a video on Weibo, claiming that Huawei’s comparison video was carefully calculated using complex mathematical formulas. They calculated the S800’s passing speed and curb weight, and ensured the pond’s depth (4.5 cm) was just right for the S800 to cross without splashing any water or other materials, unlike the Maybach. and this soon led to legal problems for him.
He implied that this video can not genuinely reflect the S800’s superior driving comfort or suspension system. and He further suggested that this was a typical Huawei marketing action. which is targeting the patriotic Chinese upper middle class who strongly support domestic brands. The video caught a large amount of attention over the internet. Later he uploaded another trolling apology video. In the video, he imitated the official Huawei launch tone as a response to Huawei’s protest.

they analyse the tire and the maybach tires looks like a bit flat compare to the other car

Huawei's founder and main CEO, Ren Zhengfei, is a CCP member who "worships" Mao Zedong and the CCP.
....... CCP China is a fat liar, eg reneged on its pledged commitments with which USA allowed it to join the WTO in 2001 = USA got tricked by CCP China.

So, Huawei/CCP dan tipu, berpisah tiada.

Comments by Huawei senior vice president Charles Ding last month have sparked Cisco into action, when he claimed that previous litigation during 2003 and 2004 was unjustified.

The former lawsuit involved a claim by Cisco that Huawei had stolen its source code and reused it in Huawei products.

"In fact, within a few months of filing suit, Cisco obtained a worldwide injunction against sale by Huawei of products, including our code for a Cisco-proprietary routing protocol called EIGRP, and Huawei publicly admitted that the code had been used in their products and they pledged to stop," Cisco's senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary Mark Chandler wrote on the company's blog. ...

Haha, as an earlier adopter of Huawei network devices in early 2000s. Many of their commands and syntax are suspiciously similar with Cisco.

And it’s buggy as shit as well. Production always interrupted because they use their customer network as Guinea pigs.

Ptuih.

Fuck them would not recommend.

.... On June 6 2025, HIMA shared on social media that the Maextro S800 gathered 3,600 orders in 7 days. It means Huawei’s flagship sedan got 1,500 more orders after the first two days. The Maextro S800 will start deliveries in China in August this year. It is worth mentioning that the Maextro plant built by Huawei and JAC has a planned annual capacity of 100 billion yuan (13,95 billion USD) per year. It means Maextro aims to sell over 100,000 units of the S800 annually. It is around 8,300 units per month. ...
