Hi everyone, just like to hear from you whether these gaps underneath the house are considered safe? Will the house sink or have other issues when construction is completed or many years in the future? Or are these actually normal?

Hope they'll seal it up later, construction is still on going. But if that's the only concern, then I'm fine with it, was more worried about the house getting damaged because of these gaps.

Wait, I just did some google search on "ground settlement", but won't that lead to house sink and wall cracks?

Normally terrace house is support by piling.. maybe 20m to 30m below the ground. so settlement rate will be different that unsupported soil. unless there's a massive ground movement, then your house should be ok...any river, dam, hill, water catchment area near your housing area?

The nearest river is about 400 meters away, is that gonna affect anything?

Same thing happened to my neighbor. There is a gap between the tar road and rear wall of the extended kitchen. Must be the result of soil movement.

During his 14 years stay, twice the floor tiles in ground floor exploded 💥💥. From kitchen to living room!
He only found out the gap appears after the tiles exploded ! He seldom survey back side of his house bcos rear door can't open ---> door frame tilted.

Twice he covered the gap with cement to prevent water goes in underneath his house. Contractor suspect hot weather causing hot air vaporation underground + soil movement --> tiles exploded!

terrace houses in KV mostly do not sit on the soil itself, but sit on rc foundation

so the 'hole' wont bring any significant harm to your house
