Hi, i recently bought m.2 2280 nvme and tried install.
Bioard is Asus Prime B460m r2.0
Ssd Xpg 8200 pro.

I'm able to insert the nvme into slot just fine but, when i have push it down to screw it, the ssd is not parallel to motherboard plane/ the end to be screwed is lower than the end at slot.
The ssd looks slanted. Surely will damage the ssd board if screw it.
To explain better, the ssd end on slot side is taller then the end on screw side.
Otherwise, other dimensions, its straight.

I went on internet, found this,, i think i'm not alone
https://linustechtips.com/topic/1384427-sho...he-motherboard/

But i want to ask suggestion locally,, what can i do?

SHopee have the screws but how do i find the correct size?? can guide?

Also, why can't motherbaord include screw, or just sell raised screw hole?? why is this a thing?
am i missing smthing??

As mentioned in the LTT Forum post, there should be a standoff + screw included with your motherboard box

screw standoff into board
lay ssd ontop, should now be flat
now screw ssd down with screw

Dont need to screw until tight touching the mobo.
Just secure enough will do.

ah sorry, some boards do include it pre-screwed onto the board

personally, I picked up a bulk kit of "M.2 screws" from aliexpress

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005396041082.html

its a small box with various sizes of screws

it says for Asus/Gigabyte/MSI but i've used it for some Dells

the listing also mentions sizes so just use that info and buy if you dont wanna buy the kit tongue.gif

Haiya.... You did not install the PC yourself right? The shop did not install the M.2 stands la. If they gave you the bag of extra screws that came with casing and board, you should be able to see it. If cannot find, then can buy from Shopee.

Make a non-conductive washer (plastic ruler, pvc pipe, thick cardboard, etc) and screw through the washer to keep the ssd parallel to the mobo?
