Hi, my house estimated to VP on middle of this year, and I am in researching the renovation things.
Now I am facing some argument on the design within family members and need some sifu advices.

- One of the member would like to use the showroom design and she is thinking the cost from the contractor who tied up with developer should be cheaper.
- Another family member is desired on an ID company and like the fancy design.
- My mom would like to find good quality contractor for her kitchen.

Using multiple contractors seems can settle these but the outlook of the house should looks messy
In term of solve everyone argument, I might need to settle their myths first.

So, any sifus here can give advice that we should find multiple contractors for individual preference or find a one-off for us? (In term of budget, quality, outcome, etc)

If you have the budget, finding an interior designer (ID) or single contractor is better cause you only deal with him/her and less headache. He/she will design everything based on your budget and manage the contractors for you.

If you do it yourself, you have to manage the contractors which can be a big headache...you also need to go check, chase and correct their mistakes

Main thing... You're free to monitor & give orders for each contractor involved...

Then you go for each one by one...

If got No time, then pick some ID people to do the work & supervision for you... Higher cost but less headache

Are they helping with the costs? At the end of the day, you are staying there and paying...so design is up to your preference...not theirs. People who usually have input can say this or that coz it's not their money....

Showroom design might look nice but make sure good quality. I don't think developer would put high quality on showroom knowing that they probably need to remove these once that unit has been sold....I could be wrong

Also don't make full payment at one go...see progress and pay accordingly. This way you have leverage to complain
