Hi,
Recently, I think of change my car insurance from Alliance to others!

Towing service of Alliance not so comfortable and attitude seemed not as good as Great Easten!

A friend mentioned about MSIG, I never heard about that 😅

Anyone with MSIG and what's your comments? Especially the Towing service & Claim Speed!

I think all towing service more or less the same as these tow trucks operators all operate independently under different insurance companies.
As long as ur insurance company is a good paymaster, I suppose these guys wouldn't mind taking up any cases available to them.

Very true! So, which means the Agent played the crucial role instead ?

Agent...I doubt so
No offence but it's about high time to cut these agents loose, not like they're doing much but they're earning the commission from selling car insurance

When you get involved in accident, most of the agents won't be doing much other than passing the responsibility to the respective insurance support hotline . During an emergency, if you call the agent who sold u the car insurance, they'll ask u to call the hotline instead since they can't do much. Do correct me if I'm wrong on this.

So you're better off buying it directly (usually got discount without involving agent) or thru portals that offers discounts such as myeg, tng, shopee, bijak etc etc

However, do stick with proper insurance company with adequate support especially during emergency - these can range from easy to reach support hotline and easy to claim panel workshop. I believe these workshop can tell you which insurance companies are better to work with cause they're getting paid by them. If they're not getting paid well, I'm sure they're less likely to work on the case by the not-so-good insurance company.

You won't go wrong with ETIQA, might be slightly more expensive but you're getting your money's worth...

Never go for rubbish insurance like Allianz, Zurich, Generali, RHB...

MSIG is on Perodua panel. Although they charge most expensive premium, my family P2 models are with them as they offer zero betterment fee for ori P2 parts during accidents up to 5 year old vehicles.

No idea. I just use etiqa for their DLSM since I only drive to and fro work and rarely anything else. And from general consensus their claim experience is not too shabby as well

I'm using MSIG insurance for both of my cars... Very good and efficient when it comes to claims and refunds... Eventhough it's the most expensive whenever I get the quotations, no regrets at all

Depends on how you calculate your car age...

Insurance calculate your car age using years... for example you bought your car in december 2020... 1st january 2021 car already 2 years old. So on January 2025, your car already exceeded the 5 years and need betterment if you want every damaged parts original and new.

Im using Etiqa
1. If you renew via apps you can get 10% rebate.
2. If you renew via customer service, you dont get the 10% rebate but you can convert it to 6/12 months instalment.
Service wise cant comment as I have not require any towing.

Never tried MSIG, but last year my car got stolen, 2.5 months got full compensation from Berjaya Sompo, which is quite good considering police investigation report there took 1 month+, then insurance company also 1 month+ after. All these process I done by myself without through agent.
