Some people say Umobile cheap but signal coverage not good?

Any idea? What is your experience after using Umobile?

Can get 4G/5G most of the time? Speed high and stable? No lag or interruption?

What areas will have bad signal for Umobile? Very rural areas? laugh.gif

It usually depends on your location and concurrent in that area.  Previously I am always at outstation so coverage so bad I switch to hotlink. Since then never have plan to go back mobile

Outstation what location? West malaysia? City, town or kampung?

I travel around a lot east coast, west coast and sometimes rural areas so coverage is like luck but lucky I was using dual sim. Most of the time maxis is the one reliable.

So only got GSM or no signal at all?

@all

it will randomly drop to 4g for a few seconds without reason then back to 5g again.

but when the network drop to 4g the internet is non existent, thats what annoying.

i dont think the problem on my side tho, using difference device also same issue, even im directly under the 5g tower also same issue.

mnp in and out few times also same.

postpaid prepaid also same.

now not using them anymore. laugh.gif

.
No problem with my 4G-only phone since Jan 2019, with postpaid GX50 and now U38, wrt got Internet.

Note that DNB1's 5G transmits on 3500MHz/Band 78 which has poorer range and poorer object penetration than U Mobile's 4G frequency bands, ie 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz (= Band 8, 3, 1, 7)
= 5G signals can be unreliable.

DNB1's 5G is a scam.?

yes, I experience this issue lots of the time.
I subscribed U98 just to test SA network , and so far I've used UMB few weeks , the 5G experience sucks.
If I lock SA and perform high throughput test (Speedtest every seconds) , the handover between NR N78 cells are very good and seamlessly, I don't see any disconnect issue happened.
But , things become worst when device is standby-ing , meaning no high throughput , the 5G connection will still be "connected" but Internet IS NOT working and call thru VoNR also NOT working.
Yes , U Mobile have VoNR for SA network.
It seems like U Mobile 5G Core Network is having some handover issue on SA. I got this issue on NSA sometimes but it's way more stable compare to SA only.

sometimes slow speed in city areas due to number of concurrent users/congestions
speeds in my suburban area can reach 100Mbps for 4G and 400Mbps for 5G

last time I was at KLIA, both 4G/5G totally unusable.
