Hello, I'm nearing the few final steps of renovation. My walls are all done with skim, do I install lighting fixtures first or straight away do painting until completion ( sealer, 1st layer 2nd layer paint ) then only install lighting fixtures ? Which sequence would be the best in general ?

paint first, after installing the light, some painters can come back touch up for you.

So basically after flooring is done, it's more advisable to paint first and then install lighting fixture last ?

I am doing reno as well and my planned sequence, after all the structural work, is always top to bottom:

1) roof fixing and repair, include sky roof
2) wiring and piping
3) bathroom tiling
4) false ceiling
5) painting
6) flooring
7) lighting, wall switch n socket
8) cabinets n sliding doors

There are others minor stuff I am doing that may need to be squeezed in between, so need to spend time to coordinate

Thanks for sharing, my sequence is similar to you but only painting and flooring is in reverse

- Flooring
- Painting
- Install lighting fixtures
- Touch up
- final cleaning
- Enter furniture

Should painting be done before flooring ? Or if flooring is done first, then use canvas to cover and then paint ?

I guess it depends on the type of flooring. If tiles flooring, then i would suggest flooring first then paint but need to cover the floor with canvas, and remember to tape the skirting with canvas also. I am not going for tile flooring so i will paint first then flooring.

Understood, thanks for all the advice, I have decided with the below sequence in order ( also for others as reference if needed )

- Install flooring
- Enter aluminum windows and folding doors
- Painting for interior
- Lighting fixtures
- Touch up
- Cleaning as last step
