Hi I have ax72 ax5400 router but the router was put in the front of a long house. So the back door area can't receive WiFi signal

Let's just say the house got front , middle and back
Signal is broadcast from front, and middle can receive but back cannot because out of range.

I now have 3 options

1. Use re705x ax3000 to put in the middle area so that the back area also receive signal

2. Use deco x10 2 pack , connect 1 to the router then 2nd one put in the middle area

3. Try and use cable to put the ax72 router in the middle area ( long cable, looks fugly)

Pls help

I'd say 3. is the best if you can do it

1. should be okay

2. is a bit unncessary and also deco x10 is kinda lower end, so i wouldnt do it this way

but with any repeater/mesh, expect speed cut in half for worst case

The best would be the 3rd option.

Here is the problem with option 2. The speed to the unit at the middle of the house will not be as high speed as the one near main AP. So, the best speed it can offer would be the max speed it can establish with the main unit. At client side you probably get lower speed if not the same at best.

So, even if you want mesh configuration, the main unit would be best located in the middle of the house, meaning long cable just like option 3. If you do not want to see big Ethernet cable to the middle of the house, then you can place your BTU (most people called it modem which it is not) in the middle of the house and extend the fiber optic cable to the BTU. The optical cable is much smaller biggrin.gif

Depends on what devices and speed requirements that you need at the back of the house.

If you need full speed and best coverage, the best choice would always be using a ethernet cable.

If just for some iot devices or do not really need close to full speed, just get another repeater/ap client/or easy meshable router and set it as another wireless extender.

Never ever buy Deco X10, that is the most basic and useless e-junk that TP link has ever created. No firmware support/updates compared to their other models.

too late bro already boughted deco x10 on offer.

the speed is just good enough for youtube etc

but theissue now is, the printer has to be always reconfigured because for some reason it isnt really like before when i only used the ax72 the printer and laptop can easily communicate, now with 2 deco x10 (i disabled the ax72 wifi signal) , and only one x10 is within range of the printer, the printer and laptop can still get confused and think theyre not on the same network

I should have gone with RE707x instead....

because at the back, i just dont want the network to lose connection, because usually im at the back (toilet ) for a while only...I just need an RE707x to maintain the connection for that short period of time, and RE707x is rated AX3000

Because if you have bandsteering on for the Deco, some devices might fail to recognize it. And this is the downside to DECO, cannot separately name the 2.4+5ghz.

Also you may try to turn off fast roaming or easy mesh settings under the client list, that is if you have the option in deco app.

Since AX72 is now easy mesh supported, you may either try to link it with your deco and use it as another mesh node or use it as AP mode and then set it to broadcast only 2.4ghz or separate both bands with individual naming.
