It's not the best panel around. Because this time use micro lens technology to save on battery energy (this explains the lower than before viewing angle) but if you think they cutting corners then you can choose Samsung as always

Imo just stick to Samsung if you like customisation that unique to Good Lock, Samsung pay/rewards, S pen (but think twice if s25u) and overall software stability

just avoid UV protector. think it as just chinese s23 ultra but with newer internals. personally hate to have curved screen + ultrasonic fp which make screen protector much more limited to choose

This might be quirks of ultrasound fp no matter if applied screen protector or even not having sp at all. If you applied sp after you registered fp, i suggest to reenroll all of your fp and press slightly harder with lower part of finger rather that tip. Same for Samsung S proper series with ultrasonic fp

(Ps your previous FE had optical fp because samsung only reserved ultrasonic for proper S line)

These (especially video and music player) are ridiculous adware


Also I have to sign in Xiaomi account and insert sim card to complete these debloat using adb tools, this is kinda ridiculous, that's why I prefer Samsung ultra personally if for camera flagship
(Ps I personally don't need camera flagship so I opt for Poco ultra instead because still cheaper than similar s25plus)

Hyper os 2.0 actually comes with a build in video player that can only be used if mi video is disabled/debloated. Otherwise for local video you can get VLC from Google app store

I disabled tng notification completely. It's all or nothing

You can try "fingerprint and lock screen settings" > "authorization and revocation " . There show up some of hidden services embedded into every hyper os system like sim activation service , msa, system daemon etc. some of them are able to be disabled safety in this page

As for "show recommendations", show ads toggle is available in some of app like "security" , "mi browser" , "cleaner" module, "app manager" module (both two part of security app) and "themes" among them. Note that not every Xiaomi system app can have such toggle or can disable 100%

From home screen only Poco launcher got DTTL

From lock screen both Xiaomi/redmi and Poco can do DTTL as long as stock lock screen theme used (including stock hyperos customisation from settings > personalization)

Nah they just try to do extreme gpu stress test like 3d mark one which is a bit far for reality situations (for most gatch games, actually these are mostly CPU bound)

The silicon lottery for 3nm based chip is also actually real, the actual performance difference from different units can be around 10-20%


And btw according to insider news, Xiaomi 17 pro/pro max with back display will be China mainland exclusive. Next year global will be vanilla 17 and 17 ultra as is in 15 series/14 series
