I see. But if you don't mind elaborating a bit, what kind of headaches that is the issue? I don't really like samsung, so I am not really considering it.
Since you bring up this. I wonder is it safe to update Xiaomi OS whenever an update is released? I saw FB, people talking about issue after update their software. I pretty much can live through most bugs as long as the phone still connected to 4/5G. The last thing i wanna deal with is suddenly drop call/internet. I would immediately put the phone up for sale if that happen to me. You know the phone is bad if it can't even do the thing they're designed for (Making Calls and Internet services).
As for Samsung and Apple, safe to say that I've no issue updating it whenever a new version release, coming from OnePlus environment, i can easily blend in with their OneUi, Just not their Samsung keyboard.
Just switched on and do some setting... I understand why people said the software is shitty. I felt like stepping into a different world. Samsung One UI and OnePlus probably close.. but outright from box Xiaomi hyperos felt like... It's quite complicated. When I switched to s23fe back then, it's turn on logging in my Google account and the rest is pretty much ok... Xiaomi is like... Asking you a lot about their apps preference. I did uncheck the ads preference. I also uninstall apps that I don't use (Netflix, TikTok, booking, Spotify etc). Then the 2 app store... Xiaomi and Play store.... Then notice the Google play store update stuck at installing 3 out of 4 updates for 20mins. So I decided to update whatever showing at play store...
The camera apps greeted me with update from Xiaomi store. Kinda weird that it's separate update from system aps. Everywhere in the Xiaomi store/recommendation ... I see it auto help me tick a lot of games and apps that I don't need... As you can see from my room it's pretty dark.. so not gonna try the camera for tonight.. will do it tomorrow.
Oh and the finger print sensor sux if you're using tempered glass.. I not sure how's the ultra sonic works, but it only reas the bottom half of my fingerprint and not top half. But will use face unlock anyway. I guessed it's about time to move banking apps to iphone
SmartDevil tempered glass have to press hard to register fingerprint
Help me try this, did it only read the bottom half of your finger print? Where upper half of your finger can't be read? That's what I experience with some TG on my 15Ultra. I tried index finger also same.
You mean when registering fingerprint it cannot read the upper half? Using right index finger, I notice XM15 can unlock better laying the whole finger on the circle. And it will fail most of the trying to unlock using just the tip of the index finger.
Sorry for my terrible english, yes I noticed the tip of the finger cannot be captured by the sensor.
This might be quirks of ultrasound fp no matter if applied screen protector or even not having sp at all. If you applied sp after you registered fp, i suggest to reenroll all of your fp and press slightly harder with lower part of finger rather that tip. Same for Samsung S proper series with ultrasonic fp
(Ps your previous FE had optical fp because samsung only reserved ultrasonic for proper S line)
That's true, for my Xiaomi I already re-enroll the fingerprint. And have similar issue... Now have raya break, I see if can play around with the finger placement. I remember back then when Samsung first launch ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, white dome is the first company to have it works?( Correct me if I'm wrong) but quite hate it that time as the cheaper loca glue tempered glass usually cause some mess because of the excessive glue on side leave a residue

[Update] it's working now... I tried two methods, I have cold finger.. I try to warm up using warm towel doesn't help. So what I do next is blow some warm air (using mouth) on the tempered glass and use my fingers to press on it. It works!! Now I've no issue using the finger tip to unlock.
Apple will use 108MP in iPhone 20 Pro say this is our innovation
Apple knowing that most people don't really bother about 200MP camera. They just want to create a go-to Phone and not "Top Spec" of everything.... leaving enough room to put something new with every generation. Software wise.. it's the same they just break something and fix something with every OS, make it look like they did something.
But anyway, truth to be told that. In term of Software, iOS>OneUI>HyperOS. Just need to get used to it. but so far i don't have much complain on the phone after week of usage. Just need to get familiar with those icon and shortcuts....
Anyone succesful remove imei label from the back?why it is so sticky and i cant fully remove it, still got glue stick at the back, how to get rid of it?
it only take me 2 seconds.. although i not sure whether is it because i'm using the leather in oppose to glass
Hahaha, well already purchased, have to live with it! I don't think Xiaomi will give a shit about optimize the camera? This my first xiaomi phone so i don't have any information whether past phone got any update to improve the algorithm for the camera.
Found this tempered glass from LaoBaoTecho n Taobao. The fingerprint works much better than Smartdevil one
I fixed the fingerprint issue via blow warm air on the fingerprint sensor area and register my fingerprint. It works . But still i prefer optical. But after you've the face unlock. I also noticed that you still need to keyin pin every 72 hours.
If u guys can order from taobao , highly recommend to get the screen protector from 铁布衫 or 秋谷兔 this two company, afforable price yet can unlock Ultrasonic Finger print.
3D 热弯 (3D hot-bending) 2pcs about RM76 / 2 = RM38 per pcs.
or alittle bit budget
3d 冷雕 (3D cold sculpture) more thinner - 2pcs about RM44 / 2 = RM22 per pcs
the price was included shipping. Can see from xhs or tou yin , the Ultrasonic work very well and super fast.
I bought 安伯希 (9D hot-bending) 2pcs for RM64.32 (include shipping), I read through most of the Tempered Glass comment from various brand. The Ultrasonic don't actually work if you apply tempered glass but it still can unlock as long as you setup the fingerprint correctly. Some of the common issue is that it doesn't read fingerprint correctly or my case is it only read bottom half of my finger. I tried re-position my fingerprint but as the Tip just not get recognize. I ended up warming my finger tip just to get it recognize. But after that, the next time i unlock. it's instant, and no issue since.. (I register two fingers, thumb and index just so i can unlock my phone during meeting without holding it up).
I'm still not used to the phone software. Going to use this a camera phone.
心动is the only word i would say seeing the Xiaomi version of 17 pro, really like what Mrwhosetheboss said, like in a candy store. But anyway, i'm wondering what's the catch there. Is it really like he claim that it's probably a marketting gimmick where Xiaomi spending more (maybe subsidizing the cost for each phone) just so, to brand it as better than Apple.
I'll see how much of a jump on 17 Ultra, my 15 Ultra haven got the time to switch yet.... overall software wise i didn't use much, i'm just using it to capture photo while travelling.

All i see is healthy competition. I don't bother who scores the top. Just bring me new tech. I'm eyeing on 17 Ultra. I wanna see how much Xiaomi can put it in their photography. I'm still disappointed with current smartphone night time photography. But it's getting there!
I lost one photography kit camera button during my Vietnam trip. LOL~ probably because in and out of pocket.. don't know where it drop...
