After years of rumor and fan protests, Marlon Wayans recently made official confirmation that White Chicks 2 is in production. The long-gestation sequel to 2004’s box office comedy, in which Marlon and Shawn Wayans played FBI officers in drag, posing as upper-class, white socialites, is on.

Speaking at 2025’s NAACP Image Awards, where The Wayans Family got inducted into the Hall of Fame, 52-year-old Marlon made the exhilarating revelation on an appearance on Good Morning America.

“I think it’s time,” he said. “We’re gonna do Scary Movie 6, and bring on White Chicks 2.”

This revelation is a huge breakthrough for viewers who have waited patiently for an official confirmation. The original White Chicks film, released in 2004, reached cult status, grossing over $113 million in box office sales. The outrageous comedy, iconic one-liners, and spoof on upper society made the film reach cult status, and it is most famously beloved in America, England, Canada, and Australia.

Over the years, various talks have occurred on whether or not there is to be a sequel. In 2019, actor Terry Crews revealed plans for White Chicks 2 after having talks with Shawn Wayans, and therefore, there was an increase in anticipation. But afterwards, Marlon made clear that no official deal had taken place. Now, after confirmation of the sequel, fans can celebrate.
