 Why don't Malay have medival or ancient armor?

Copilot says got Kechubong Helmet and Lamina. I guess the Lamina is from the word Laminate? Can't seem to be able to find picture. I guess back then the Malay land was more peaceful.
Even in old Malay period movies that I have watched, I never see heavily armored warrior character.

Because they are AGI type and not STR.

Evasion + 50%
Dodge + 50%

But damage taken is automatically a crit 150% dmg.

silly meh... why not try to wear iron armor of like 10 to 20kg weight and walk around under noon sun.

and then try to pee a few times when wearing those armor... see how much fungal infection one will kena.

Because :
1. Lack of iron ore for materials and imports are crazy expensive
2. Lack of technique to smelt iron
3. Lack of outward military ambition so no motivation to solve both above conundrum
4. Lack of wealth to aspire to #3
