Dear Sifus

I’m planning to buy a new pc soon. But stumbled across a few stores, Idealtech, Haxtech, Emarque.

Just curious if anyone purchased anything from them before? Or if you guys can recommend your go-to PC store

Will you be assembling by yourself, or you need the seller to spec and build it for you?

If it is just a basic PC and you have a flexible budget, I may go for DELL as their warranty support is good. I think they even do on-site repairs/installation.

Usage and location? I'd probably recommend PCImage if you are in Penang icon_idea.gif

if u ok, buy direct from china with taobao. everything is 30 to 40% cheaper exept Ram.
Example nvme 4TB malaysia sell RM1250, china to MYR is RM896 or even cheaper.

my cpu and mobo also from dongguan. was purchase last year November RM6000 and i get it at RM4260 only.

if u are not overclock or do anything extreme, taobao is the best. no warranty in malaysia.

but basically most 90% our IT product are from China. what are u worry about.

some of these prebuilt systems they also have perks like repairs or dust cleaning etc.

but you have to compare prices if you source yourself vs buying from shop. if you cannot install yourself especially the cabling, then either way you'd need to send to a shop to do it for you.

but right now is not the best time to be buying a pc e.g. graphic card and ram especially. but if you really need a pc, then no choice. just know now is the worst to be buying sweat.gif

if u ask ai google search it will tell u which of these shops give u those extra services

Several established custom and prebuilt PC shops in Malaysia offer free lifetime dust cleaning and labor services for systems purchased from them. These shops are primarily concentrated in the Klang Valley (Kuala Lumpur and Selangor).

what it boils down to for their after service

Ideal Tech PC -  Dust Cleaning & Labor

Racuntech - Dust Cleaning & Thermal Paste

Dotatech - Dusting Service

Aftershock PC - Clean-ups & System Checks
as you can see some offer more perks than others. doesnt mean they dont offer extras, but if not mentioned as free after you bought system, then they will have a charge fee for that.

so check what after service is offered, where they are located (closest you better), then get price quote then compare. then check the reviews for these places.

dust cleaning is important since it affects the heating of your system, so you should do every now and then. the cpu thermal paste usually every 3 years or so. you can check HWinfo for temp whether got issues, that's when you know you have to do something about it (dust cleaning and perhaps even thermal paste replacement for cpu).

personally i use shopee and source myself using vouchers heavily for discounted prices. then i send to shop to assemble. other things i know how to do myself sweat.gif

the other reason why, i want to reuse my previous graphics card. these shops want you to buy graphics card from them to count as buying a whole system, because the graphic card will most likely cost the most out of all the parts rolleyes.gif this is why i couldn't simply buy from them since i didn't need a graphic card. they don't want your business if u dont buy that as well sweat.gif (well you might be able to get individual parts, but they wont count that as buying a full system from them so u wont get those extra after service)
