I have started taking Terbinafine oral medicine ( about 45 pills now ) since Jan 13 & some anti fungal cream given by the clinic ( 2 small tubes ) not sure what name is it but i asked to be given in a tube and the doctor gave me a Zarin Cream (Miconazole) .. almost 5 weeks now treating my ringworm on my thigh.. it recovered during my 2.5 weeks but after that relapse back again even on treatment... i don't want to be dependent on the Terbinafine for so long.. and even after some infection spot are recovering, new red spots are coming out ( new infection im guessing ) is it usually this long to cure fungal infection on thigh any recommendation or skin specialist i should seek second opinion ?


brown patch is the one recovered on my thigh, but the red spot came out even after im still on Terbinafine medication..

rub with tree tea oil 2 times a day (non diluted)... and let it sit there for 1-2hrs...

apply nixoderm morning after bathe... and evening after bathe..

fungal infection....use antibac je....iodine solution/turmeric/cream.

make sure not the one with steroids.

really taktau...jusst sapu minyak gamat and see got any changes or not

I think i applied nixodem once but it got painful or more red to the skin? Very very early stages before i went to the clinic.. now even when im on medication it still spreads 🥲 which brand do u recommend for the tree tea oil?

I got even use sulphur soap everyday 😞

I think i haven been using 5 zarin cream tubes so far since jan .. but bengang la while some infection recovering then new ones come out 😡🤬

terbinafine is available in topical form, use that if you don't want to take it orally. google creobic gold.

Get second opinion mate. Usually for me last time the cream enough 2 days gone.

My dermatologists is in Sunway hospital but 15 minute consultation was rm300 not including drugs

supposed to be stronger (according to a pharmacist), more expensive. I'd use both though, fungal infection can be stubborn.

nixoderm it will burn if you apply for the first few times... that means it's working...

tree tea oil that small green bottle i think from australia one... should suffice... also if you have sensitive skin maybe might want to dilute it first to see whether your skin can take the full undiluted one or not..

nixoderm works best.. you just need to get past that burning sensation... after a few applications it stops burning actually.. that means it's already healing...

everyone has different skin sensitivity and tolerance... always try with small dosage and observe first...

TS maybe you need to try another fungus cream.
Some cream are more effective and some are not depending on the fungus type.
micazole seems to be working for you though as the fungus did clear off.

Do apply the cream once in the morning after bath and once in the evening before going to sleep.

Once fungus clear off, you will still need to apply cream once in awhile or else it will relapse.
Using sulfur soap for bathing everyday will help reduce fungus relapse.

Unfortunately we live in a tropical country so fungus will relapse very easily as it not easy to keep affected area dry all the time.

If all else fails, you can try the good old method passed down by our forefathers - go to the sea and soak in seawater.
Dun laugh, it actually works.

Prior i started to use micazole, it was a cream the clinic mix with.. they mix it and put in a small round container but they dry very fast easily! So it was pretty inconvenient for me to go back everytime as it could dry up in 4 or 5 days after usage.. then i ask for a tube, but they gave me zarin cream (micazole cream).. but this time the infection seems coming back even when some spots are recovering 😤😩

Then should try some other cream - miconazole, clotrimazole, and terbinafine are the common over the counter cream.
Creobic is clotrimazole.

I have edited my post - soaking in seawater is an old method for treating skin fungus and it actually works.

Oh btw creobic gold is terbinafine.

Its a long battle with any skin fungus.
And i understand your concern as infection at the thigh area might spread to the groin area and tats where all hell gonna break lose.
