Same platform but different ride and handling tuning. Alza is better. Lots of Proton RnH staff move over to Perodua since Geely takeover, Perodua nowadays no more shxt handling.

If you are the driver most of the time, pick Alza. If you cannot tahan the waiting time, get Veloz. Their new hybrid DCVT provides are smoother power delivery

If you are more considerate towards the passenger,  get the xpander

Use to own previous alza and  sometime sat in Ativa belong to my wife. . IHMO , Ativa way better than new Alza

not much different compare to alza but ativa is lighter and the turbo does help a bit in term of acceleration.

tbh its really pointless to compare the entry level cars

just get whatever that's good selling and move on, dont try to be smarty pants and buy something "cold" then end up suffer when u cannot sell off & no RV

your goal is to live with it for 1-2 years at max then make enough money to upgrade to a better car

At the end i choose Aruz, dun ask me why. I just find it comfortable after test drive (my initial thought is to buy Alza)

It's like driving a Wira 1.3 Automatic lo. For me i'll choose Alza anytime la. Most of the time i drive, my wife sit beside. I dont care whether my son feel comfortable in the middle seat or not.

How can you compare an Alza with a Zeekr 009/Velfart/Carnival/Staria?
Alza is a cheap econobox made for a specific price segment and customer profile who want an mpv. There is a lot more to a vehicle than just the number of passengers it can accommodate.

Unfortunately there are no good options of MPVs under RM100k. If you need a 7 seater, you will be better off with a used Sorento or Santa Fe or maybe an older Alphard, from what I hear, even older Alphards are quote reliable.
