If it is still under warranty, I would let ASUS service centre do the repair to avoid voiding the warranty.

It could be the CMOS battery is dead and each time you turn on the computer, it resets the BIOS and does checks which takes time.

Maybe you can check if the power button works to turn the display off and or put computer to sleep when it is booted up.
