depend on your budget and features that u want. i still recall 3 years ago when i get SE3 as 1st iphone (switch from android). i dont need fancy stuff but just want an iphone.
that time also people complained
-4.7" small screen
-No OLED
- lightning port
-no magsafe
-small battery
-home button - old tech
-etc

But survived for 3 years without any problem and no regret on the decision

u can compare iphone 15 or 16. not advise to go lower as apple tend to cut support OS after it is 5 years old. at least 15 and 16 can still use for next 4-5 years.

5G modem is quite new from apple, so advise to wait for people review next week before decide.

If the price reaches 3000, just wait and pump it up a little bit more to get an iPhone 16 Pro

from ip17 air leak, it seem like only got 1 camera and price wont be cheap. Heard that apple going to increase price due to inflation on new model (16e- is just the 1st step), US tariff increase 9%, etc

Well im also android user but now still survey ip14, ip15 or if ip16e price good, then ill go for ip16e

It's about same like iphone 16 with lower peak brightness 800 ~ 1200 as compare to 1000~2000

others remain quite same, OLED, 460ppi , resolution almost identical
no dynamic island and remain 60hz

Main thing that they removed as compare to iphone 16 are:

1) Magsafe
2) A18 (shave edition) with lesser cores
3) no UWB
4) no ultra-wide lens (but they fuse wide and telephoto together)
5) 3 gram of weight
6) price tag $100 (lesser)
7) multi color variant

Previous SE is 2399. This 16E although touted as entry level, but a bit pricy.
Imo, try to not consider 14. go at least 15 pro and up.
