Nothing explained that this is a common occurrence. The Phone(3a) series is well-sealed and complies with the IP64 standard. Therefore, to prevent speaker noise caused by differences in internal and external air pressure, Nothing has incorporated a pressure equalizing hole on the back of the phone. This feature helps maintain pressure balance without compromising the device’s dust and water resistance.

When the phone is pressed firmly, a temporary pressure imbalance may result in speaker noise. However, as the pressure equalizes, the noise disappears. Similarly, once released, the pressure stabilizes, and the sound returns to normal.

Rest assured, this does not affect normal usage, and both the speaker and the phone’s airtightness remain intact.

Whereas there is no 3a pro in the shopee/lazada though. At rm1999, the price gap difference is going to be bigger.

Please take note on the repairability of nothing phones. My friend had a nothing phone 2 and after warranty, his wifi have problems. Besides wifi, the phone functions 100%.

The problem with him is that he can't get it repaired. Asked many repair shop and all mentioned lack of spare parts to repair nothing phone.

I'm upgrading to Nothing 3a from OnePlus 7 Pro, is it a good choice?

I get where you are coming from and the adaptation will be quite seamless for you. My gf upgraded hers too from 1+ 6T to the Honor x9b for a short 1 year plus and now with her new 3a Pro. I would say yes once you get a great offer for it. She gotten her 3a pro for around 1.59k after discounts 2 weeks ago.
