Hi, I recently decided to purchase a vehicle through my company.

Regarding the capital allowance, for a new motor vehicle costing more than RM100,000 but less than RM150,000, the qualifying expenditure is capped at RM100,000.

I'm currently looking for a car priced below RM150,000, aiming for the qualifying expenditure of RM100,000.

I'm considering the CR-V S Spec 2024, which currently has a massive discount, bringing the price below RM150,000.

Sifu, are there any alternative cars similar to the CR-V within this price range? Please exclude Chinese brands.

Previous Ride:
Civic FC 1.8S

Current Ride:
BMW 330i (Power no doubt but too stiff, looking for a more family-oriented vehicle)

Cars Tested & Rejected:
CR-V S Spec 2024 (Still considering)
HR-V 2025 – Rejected due to tight second-row space
Corolla Cross 2025 – Rejected due to tight second-row space
Zenix 2024 – Over budget (even with a RM5,000 discount, still RM160,000 for the 2024 model)

Requirements:
SUV
Spacious with standard safety features
Able to fit 4 adults + 1 baby car seat

Driving Conditions:
Mostly city driving
Occasional trips from KL to JB

Have you consider Vw Tiguan, Subaru Forester? Or Korea Hyundai Tucson/Santa Fe? Maybe can check out if they have any discount for 2024 stocks.

Subaru Forester after discount should be able to meet below 150k
No problem with 4 adults + 1 kid
Subaru active safety features (eyesight) confirm more better than CRV, if your looking into a good safe city SUV.

*Of 10 SUVs included in the updated test, only the Subaru Forester earned a “good” rating.
