My parents old national fridge conked after 25 years of heavy abuse. Fridge or freezer door a few times accidentally left open overnight. Freezer always packed full until no space for air circulation, fridge often packed full.
Replaced it with a Hitachi and the power savings was apparent. I asked the appliance shop on which models have the lowest repair/return rate and she said that Japanese brands including Hitachi are generally better than Chinese. Only problem with Hitachi is that the company handling fridge service and repair is Arcelik and not Hitachi themselves. I don't know how good Arcelik customer service is. Hitachi I think still directly handle servicing for larger more expensive appliances. |
