Just want to hear your opinions for this. I bought my Iriz 1.3 for 2years at this point. It really has good comfort for driving in its price segment. However, as we all know Iriz has worse fuel consumption. My average has always between 350-440km per tank.

I was thinking to either downgrade to 2nd hand car in terms of cost like both installment and fuel costs.

My current monthly is RM416, I was eye-ing Hybrid Jazz 2011-13 model which costs around 25k+- with around RM330+- installment. And since its hybrid I heard can save lot of fuel consumption around 20km/l.

So my question would be, is it wise to downgrade to this car?

EV user said bad of both worlds.

ICE user said best of both worlds.

Better ask hybrid user.

Based on your objectives, definitely no

And most definitely not a hybrid jazz
12-14+ years old car, you think no wear and tear and no need replace?

Any one part you need to replace will immediately void and negate any fuel saving you can possibly have with this old hybrid

Conclusion : no, not wise
Very foolish.

Whats TS average mileage per month?

For hybrid vehicle, really need high mileage in order to reap the saving from petrol.

IMO it’s not worth it. I'd rather get a used honda city GM6 instead.

Once your hybrid battery pack kong all ur fuel savings went to replace the batt pack instead.

This generation jazz hybrid AC compressor is driven by engine belt. So the compressor is not running when the engine stops (only blower). So your car sure feel stuffy n hot during in traffic jam. Iriz AC win in this department lol..

from 416/mth > 330/mth
saving 86 for ??
might as well just keep driving the Iriz and paying it off.
Don't see the point in changing the car. Besides, old hybrid, who knows what's the battery and motor condition like now? Later costs a bomb to fix.

if yr calculations are right, and you dont mind the hassle then go for it but instead of hybrid, go with the conventional model first.

If you just want better fuel consuption and less issue, would be better to get the normal ICE Honda Jazz or City. Hybrid 2nd hand got many hidden cost which in the end the repair/replacement parts might not be feasible for the fuel savings to breakeven.

Not wise, trading in that Iriz, you will need to top up RM20-30k to clear loan balance minus trade in price.

Unless your fuel usage is close to RM1000 a month, why bother? My cousin used to drive a camry hybrid and yes, it does save quite a bit but only if you drive a lot. I knew someone who drive the same car and boost about fuel savings but eventually sold the car for a petrol car. Reason is simple, if your fuel savings cant save your more than the car price devaluation, you are not actually gaining anything.
