I heard the kam and firework sellers this year crying, because very less demand for both. Think this is true as last year berlambak stalls selling both, but this year like suddenly all disappeared.

Best proof is Bandar Puteri Puchong. Last year there were a row of stalls selling CNY items at the parking area nearby Oriental Kopitiam. This year.... takda.

this one has to because it's part of the tradition
the cost of it may have been split among everybody or some family have like a central tabung where every relative bank in RM50/month to fund that annual reunion dinner

my family has both for reunion dinner and whatever dinner they have after that
