Dots don't matter in Gmail addresses

If someone accidentally adds dots to your address when emailing you, you'll still get that email. For example, if your email is johnsmith@gmail.com, you own all dotted versions of your address:

john.smith@gmail.com
jo.hn.sm.ith@gmail.com
j.o.h.n.s.m.i.t.h@gmail.com

Note: If you use Gmail through work, school, or other organization (like yourdomain.com or yourschool.edu), dots do change your address. To change the dots in your username, contact your admin.

My issue is someone manage to register tng account using abcdef@gmail.com and all the corresponding email is being sent to me. I've contacted TNG and they also confirmed that there is another tng account registered with that email which is really odd. I've reported to them and basically they are saying its two different account registered under 2 different email addresses. I did not receive anything regarding verification etc but keep getting new login emails.

Anyone encounter this issue before and how do I resolve it? Just worried that the other account is used as a mule account or any illegal account of some sort.

I think he's trying to hijack my email account but bad luck for him.

U can try without "." or put extra "." or put "." at wrong place, u'll still receive the email.

That's was the question posted by TS lo.

It is considered 2 separate emails so the system is right.

The problem lies with the email providers. In my case, it was Gmail. It seems abc.def and abcdef are considered the same.

Fortunately, both email accounts are considered 2 separate entities under the law so no worries.

I did not receive verification. Account activated or not that I cant be sure. Definitely account not compromised. Someone just somehow registerd with another email without dots.

I just test my 6 year old tnG account
My email in record is NOT verified

So, tnG only verified mobile number when register
It doesn't required email to verify

But why some1 want to use a Gmail address that don't exist to record in their TnG

That's why bro. I find it super weird. Now I keep getting login email sometimes 2-3 times a day.
