The tourism industry is thriving with people’s growing desire to explore new destinations. Every year millions of people travel to various parts of the world. So, which are the most visited cities in the world?

Tourism is reaching new heights in 2024. According to the predictions from UNWTO, international tourism is not only expected to recover pre-pandemic levels but also exceed it by 2%.

Analysis of regional trends shows that the pattern of recovery is also diverse globally. Some regions are growing at an exponential rate while some are just stabilizing.

Even more information about the current and potential movements in global tourism, including the most visited cities in the world can be found in the article Global Tourism Statistics and Future Predictions 2024 which may be useful for understanding the tendencies of modern tourism.

Cities carry a unique blend of history, culture, and innovation. It’s no surprise that they draw millions of visitors each year. But which one holds the No. 1 spot among the most visited cities in the world??

After the massive love being shown to our article “Most Visited Countries in the World”, we now present you with the Most Visited Cities in the World.

Arrival= tourism?...

LOL...data is skewed

Get the data off between visitor or tourist visa, before running "tourism".

International, migrated people returning back to their home countries also counted?.
Also, border neighbor workers/visitors/family/kins related....
Data needs to be properly filtered.

You can see via Malaysia's tourism...46.5% arrivals are Singaporeans....
Why?...basically you would know.

Similar to Thailand, being bordered with more countries, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia...in-out.

eg: Laos-> Thailand, approximately contributes 2 million people
from Malaysia?...4.4 million people.
It would state 24 hours, so...why not?...business trips or just plain going across border for family, friends, relatives for weekends ....

By this logic, SG should be more. Many MY working there rather than they are coming here over the weekend

Also, those transit longer at Changi definitely go out immigration to tour the country. Should be higher than KL
