I kena from Otofacts, where b4 buying report it says my car is low spec, and the car im buying is mid-spec. i was so anxious that time, tot its accident car and they buy mid-spec parts to upgrade it. after buying the report, otofact say its mid-spec from the factory.
I think a mechanic should be able to tell a second hand car is ok or not, regardless of what values the scrut give u/them.
I personally trust mechanic than scrut N/A value.. unless scrut explictly say YES on certain parts. N/A means they don't have the data.
have u talk to the seller about this scrut report?

QUOTE(alphacross @ Jan 14 2025, 11:51 PM) No, i didnt talk about the SCRUT report. I purchased another report on jomcheck, it has NO instead of the N/A, but the chassis no is not shown. I think it's my fault where i didnt tell them im planning to buy a used car before, i only told them after i paid 2.5k to the seller I think so, i saw his FB posting again to bump his listing and actually he might be a dealer instead of a owner as i saw multiple listing from him. One thing im scared is will i get into trouble for not proceeding with the agreement even though im ok with the 2.5k gone? he said that cannot cancel, i die die need to transfer the remaining balance to him. no la i dont think he can force u like that. 2.5k is deposit, means u ffk then u forfeit it. if he is a dealer, can try check their shop fb/google review if it helps. i feel u should trust mechanic more than your uncle, what do they say now jomcheck says NO instead of N/A? are they really professional experienced kind (been dealer for many many years) or just kopitiam uncle (talk story kind) another thing u can do is check the history with proton SC with the carplate. most used car dealer i know can check a car with their eyes and able to know a lot after a test drive. im not sure how your uncle rely on those reports so much, especially non of those report says yes on anything. its up to you on that deposit, i dont think the seller can 'force' you to buy it. if you want to give up the deposit, make sure ur uncle can find u a good car. dont forfeit the deposit then u have to find again and you find another car that gives similar results on scrut report.
