Do you have an existing Hotlink/Maxis number? If yes, you will need go to Maxis Centre instead

You will only receive that message if you have an existing service (regardless prepaid, postpaid or dibre). Better go to Maxis Centre for the port in request.

Sometime those small phone accessory shop are also telco agents, can port at their shop. They usually charge some fee though, around rm10. Telco service center usually free but unless telco service center is really near your house better just do at those small shops. Petrol+time might be more than rm10.

Small ustaz shop wont try to persuade you into reg postpaid and shit while telco center staff mostly will, to raise their kpi.

You’re really unlucky. I’ve never come across anyone promoting postpaid plans at a shop. If you’ve been to a Maxis Centre, you’d know how bad their service can be. The shortest time I’ve ever waited was at least an hour. Personally, I prefer using a trusted agent—they get things done much faster, and I don’t mind paying the extra RM10 for the convenience.
