There seem to be a variety of options at various prices points.

Example Similac Gold is around triple the price of Similac Inte-P.

How to decide? Any point in getting the most expensive, or how to decide?

if u have the money, no harm buying the A grade stuff..
my kids enfagrow step 1 -> 4

this is akin to rich granny driving merc around taman and to kopitiam/market...
she got money what..

of course mum's milk da best la

do save ur funds for good ingredients after the baby can start taking solid..

no point giving the kid grade A formula then feeding the kid plain rice with soup without yummy meat and veggies

Can decide through nutrition information. Last time was famous with probiotics and prebiotics > DHA. Recent years developing to Sphingomyelin & DHA for 10x faster brain connections. Can study on S26 milk formula. Mind that some formula milk is heaty for infant (might develope phlegm) as first 6 months infant not require to drink water.

Some parents also opt for goat milk (example karihome).

Still depending which benefits you looking at.

Buy what you can afford... all are just milk with lots of sugar and chemicals added.

Try the cheapest first and go up from there

Example, try Dutch baby, not ngam? Dumex, not ngam? The premium Dutch lady, not ngam? Similac and so on.

One advice is try formula that's easily accessible in your local market like 99 speedmart/kk mart.

FYI, I got the Similac Inte-P1 eventually. Seems to have all the essential nutrients at a relatively decent price.

If your child lactose intolerant better try lactogen/lactogrow

month 1-6 I give Nan / Enfagrow. month 6 onwards give Dutch Baby. Its much more convenient to choose a formula milk that available on local shops. Easier to find

sometimes its not your choice. some baby just not suitable to some formula milk. My in law work in pharmacy said, got one mummy nearly tried all the formula milk in the market, until found out the goat milk is more suitable to her baby. so it's depend. good luck in looking for the right formula for your baby.

breastfeeding is usually the best.
