I need a budget robot vacuum around rm300, as a midweek part-time cleaner. I would consider spending rm500 if the robot vacuum is efficient enough to replace my weekly vacuuming routine, though I still need to clean other spots besides the floors as my house is very dusty.

What feature should I look for?
Is mopping feature any good or should just focus on vacuuming?

Try to look for vacuum with laser navigation where it can map out the area. This way it wont have to depend on random chance.

Im using ilife L100 with LDS laser nagivation. Have mop function also. Quite effective and i have been using it for exactly one year.
If your house very dusty i would advise u mop the first time. Then only use the vc mop function.

I have both a low end and higher end Xiaomi. Will not recommend the low end ones.

Used to buy Irova brand. Cheap, good enough. But small battery & vacuum suction power not strong.

Finally willing to pay more for (Xiaomi) Dreame F9 & bigger battery, stronger suction, programmable via app

I bought my Roborock s5 and it’s been working and still working after 7 years. Albeit I have to change some accessories myself over the years.

Just to give you some perspective about cheap vs better.

I have roborock s6 and xiaomi s20+. Roborock performs better but the price is just too high nowadays. s20+ can do the job, just alwiz vacuum 1st, before mop. I have no issues using the Mijia App, also make sure you get the Global unit.

First of all, the effectiveness of robot vacuum depends on how much robot friendly is your house. If you have too many obstacles on the floor, no robot can be good for you. However, if robot can reach every corners and places on your house (high leg sofa/bed/closet, wall mounted TV console etc), this product is effective for you. Then you need to select a robot vacuum that have the capacity to cover your house build up area.

Ecovacs Deebot T30s
https://vacuumwars.com/complete-ecovacs-dee...iew-is-it-good/

Rm4-5k

also maintenance cost probably the dust bags to constantly replace. not sure how often to replace the mop/brush pads. If you go shopee you will see the prices for replaceable parts

"Ecovacs T30S COMBO T30S Pro T30S Robot Vacuum Cleaner Accessories Main Side Brush Hepa Filter Mop Dust Bag Spare Parts"

doubt u will consider this budget, but this particular model is said to be effective enough compared to the more expensive models.

There is a Ecovacs Deebot N20 Plus
https://vacuumwars.com/ecovacs-deebot-n20-plus-review/

RM 1.5k on shopee (limited time price)

whats nice about this model is it's bagless. if you are the type don't want to buy the bags constantly, this is a good design for that smile.gif I wish more robot vacuums have this, but they probably won't. Because they make less money that way rolleyes.gif

If you go more budget options, don't expect the more premium features, put it that way. for example, this particular budget model has no sensor, so if got obstacles, it will just run them over. so you're supposed to manually move things out of the way manually for it. If you don't like that con, then you have to pay more for a model that can detect obstacles like the T30s or something else.
