I know there are guys like this they just comply to anything but doubtful to get in to a relationship with you, chances are many guys don't even know what they should do, he may be into you but he is not sure, but in the end of the day, what stopping you? because of the cold text? I think what matter is how he show his body language physically, girls tend to overthink too much over a text message that do not carry any tone and emotions which most of the time are neutral in guy POV.
