Guys
Im planning to build a new gaming PC, unfortunately, there is no 9800x3d in stock
likely the build only going complete in Mar/Apr
quick question : should i buy 32GBx2 6000Mhz DDR5 now or just wait when building?
Why? Got CNY sale on Lazada.. getting some discount..
Problem is RAM price is unstable, can go up or down.... and I have no urgency to buy except for the discount...
What your thoughts?
DRAM prices is trending downwards but how it affects local prices depends if the drops are temporary or not. Likely our resellers/distros will maintain current pricing until it goes back to normal level again or else will also start to drop if global prices continue down.
So unless you got a good deal, if you can wait then wait.
FYI buying parts separately (diff sellers moreso spanning months) will also make getting LHDN tax deduction difficult if Taxman cometh.
Target for DDR5 6000-6400 with CL 30-36. Newer low latency (<CL30) kits suggested by overfloe will not be cheap I think will similar prices to higher speeds kit(7200 & above).
Protip: all these are still based on Hynix A die or M die, so you can get a good value 6000 CL36 kit and manually tune the RAM latency down towards CL30 and lower which will give similar perf to higher priced RAM kits. Just need to put in work & time if your up for it.
