Hi, I need to do a biopsy to see if I have NPC (Nasopharyngeal carcinoma) cancer, can anyone suggest which government hospital is the best place to go in terms of cost/efficiency?

Thanks a lot for the help, appreciate it.

If its just biopsy why not go to private/semi private ? It should be quicker and less waiting time. The price also shouldn't be that expensive.

I remembered my mum had to wait 1-2 weeks just for simple blood test, so im not sure if biopsy will take how long.

There is an ent specialist in puchong that can do biopsy. Not very expensive. I think the name is dr subra

Stay safe man.Nasal cancer is highly curable. Early intervention is very important

it's better to go private and there might be need to get 2nd opinion coz biopsy results is the one that determine next steps.. ie surgery, chemo or radio etc...

2nd don't procrastinate as we dunno the status or it's stage if cancerous. Act Fast!

Actually my mum has NPC cancer before, and so I went and check with the sunway doctor that treated my mum’s cancer.. i did a CT Scan and the doctor say there is a risk that I may or may not have this cancer, so need to do a biopsy to confirm but the charges he quote is just to high at 9-10k..

For a simple daycare biopsy should be like 4k. i think the hospital estimate also include IHC test, which alone could cost up to 5k.

If confirm and transfer to public health care the procedure I'm not sure how they kira or how it's work

My personal experience
Ent is in hkl scacc 6th floor on your left corridor further end once you exit from the lift

Hkl specialist their normal procedure must go through klinik kesihatan first once the doctor confirm or needed for specialist then the kk doctor write you referral letter, once arrive hkl ENT nurse will determine if your case urgent or not so I'm not sure how far the slot will be for the waiting time/schedule/booking .

My experience with hkl ent with my hearing loss/tinnitus allergies probably less than RM 200 including parking fees and my personal time, whole test and trial and test and diagnose took me one year to complete all necessary test

The test include, exterior check, rinne test, 2-3 time hearing test, how my brain react with sounds test, question paper survey test, blood collect for allergies test, blood test, MRI scan because doctor afraid i have ear cancer and many kind of medicine take and 2 -3 time microscope into my nose hole... 😂

That my experience with hkl ENT department , i don't think you can simply request public hospitals for this and that test unless you have the symptoms/urgent/transfer or if you still want try you may try visit the KK first see what the doctor say first

Other than that your best choice is visit private health care for all the test you need.
