Hi, I'll guide you thru the calculation.
40/0.0076 Flexible cable means 40 strands of 0.0076inch diameter wire strand. So 40 strands of 0.0076inch diameter = 0.19304mm diameter = 0.029267424mm.sq times 40 strand = 1.1706969596mm.sq cross section area. So it's actually more than 1mm.sq.

Thanks! Wow .. you are pro man!
Another struggle is, some said 0076, some 076! So? Isn't the same diameter, right?

Thats a pretty common typo in the industry. It should be 0.0076".

So, regarding to the Diameter, should always in Inch unit?

For this kind, yes inch are used. Other common size are 70/0076 and 110/0076.
If you want to keep it simple, Fajar and UMS does have cable marked with the mm.sq cross section. They come in two type, Grey PVC Sheath and Black TRS Rubber (heavy duty) commonly used as outdoor extension cord.
