Looking for small backup drive that can plug into old windows laptop and samsung phone. External hard disk too big for me, need to find something smaller.

Look at nvme + m.2 enclosure, can buy rm290 for 1tb nvme and rm70 for the enclosure. Worth it? Anyone using this for backup both windows and android devices?

Crucial p3 1tb: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.MiLIS

Ugreen m.2 enclosure: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.MiLp2

Interesting. That heat sink inside the case, no air pass through? How hot is it? Just uncomfortable or too hot to touch?

See many complain about heat. Is it until throttling or still on same speed? If throttling, how low the speed becomes?

Ssd is smaller than external hdd ke if include casing? External hdd like seagate backup or wd passport ayam see is quite small already

I think about half the size if using 2280 m.2 ssd. Maybe 1/4 size if using 2230 enclosure.

I have been using external hdd and thumb drives since college. Nowadays external hdd not much change, and big capacity thumb drive pricier compared to nvme. Also just want to try new form factor.

Must see the price also, if nvme and sata same price, might as well go for nvme.

Yeah nowadays nvme ssd got cheap2 one like crucial p3, kingston nv2, silicon power, lexar etc. Even orico got sell many types of m.2 nvme. That's why few days ago I've been looking at these nvme + enclosure combo. Nvme also more widely used than sata m.2, so can use these to troubleshoot failing nvme also.
