Hi, I am planning to go for the upcoming S25U.

The current phone I am using, Nothing Phone 2, has been sent to warranty after only 1 year+ of usage, and they(The distributor) want me to pay for a replacement cost of RM2k++, which is unacceptable as it is still covered under extended warranty. It is another issue I have to deal with in life.

I would like your suggestions on the best deal or option based on your experience.

I am considering not choosing any telco plan option and instead purchasing using a Credit Card (RHB/HSBC) with a 24-month installment.

Also, do not trade in any phone.

I am choosing between official Samsung, SenQ, or other retailers offering better or similar benefits.

I am thinking of getting it from SenQ because, with the low membership fee, it comes with an extra year warranty.
It looks very tempting, but I might miss out on all the rebates, pre-orders, or other unknown offers that Official Samsung has made.

Also, after researching past-year models S24 and S23, I found that both Samsung Official and Retailer offer similar pre-order promos, such as double storage / PWP.
Official Samsung Online will give an online voucher, where the retailer will provide a free product, such as buds, a charger, or an accessories kit.

I have an EDU email for the program, and I wonder if that can stack up vouchers and save up more cost.

I filled out the RM200 pre-interested registration and saw another product that required RM100 to receive RM600 in value.

Does anyone recall Samsung having this "Reservation+ Voucher" in the past?
To reserve or show interest in buying the new series phone, you have to pay RMxx, and they give you a rebate voucher.

I wonder if this new thing has replaced the old promo campaigns like S23 and S24, where you pre-order, and they offer an RM400 / RM500 voucher instead of buying this Reservation Voucher first.

I'm unsure if this will replace the Pre-Order offer or if it is a new/separate thing.

Please let me know your thoughts.

After reading what you guys shared on the first page, where the price drop is so significant, I am also open to waiting for 1/2 month after the release, maybe March/April.

This EPP discount price is on the current date, right? "Clearance" price preparing for S25.
It is not the pre-order EPP price for a brand-new release phone.

Asking for a first-time EPP buyer for a new release phone.
How much is the discount? 5% ?
And it cannot be stacked with any voucher, right? Not even the RM100 (RM500 worth) reservation voucher and RM200 registered interest voucher. Am I correct?

That is a crazy discount with EPP.

From my understanding, it is cheap/similar if you currently use an "expensive" postpaid plan.

For example, I am using U38 from Umobile.
If I have to opt for a contract with Telco.

I have to top up the extra monthly fee just for the phone deal and benefits, which is already more than I need.
120GB from U38 is more than enough.

So, I believe buying outright with a voucher/installment is a better choice.
Or wait months after release if you want to go for the patient game.

Other than that, I found a website that lists and compares all the telcos and their prices before/after the contract.

Can anyone share how much % the discount is usually for preordering a new release S series phone using the EPP program? 5%, 10% or higher?

Will I also get the same pre-order benefit (if there is any this time for S25)

I am researching and surveying which charger is the best and found out that the last S24 series only came with a 3A cable in the box.

One main reason I go for 100W is for future proof. I do charge my Macbook and multiple device using a same charger.

What if Samsung finally upgrade their charging speed to 60W/100W next series. You won't have to buy another charger for it.

This video compares the charging speeds of the Samsung S24 Ultra and the new S25 Ultra. Turns out, the S25 Ultra makes it way easier to get that super-fast 45W charging, while the S24 Ultra had some cable issues.

Unlike the S25 Ultra, the S24 Ultra requires a 5A cable to achieve "Super Fast Charging 2.0". The S24 series had an initial batch with weaker USB cables, making a separate 5A cable necessary.

TLDR:
Included 3A cable from S24 Ultra only can do SFC 1.0
Included 3A cable from S25 Ultra can do SFC 2.0 due to a better cable and an additional charging standard 15V/3A

S25 Ultra charges faster and more reliably than the S24 Ultra, out of the box SFC 2.0
