My tyre just run for about 28k km. Punctured on highway by a metal rod. But unfortunately, mechanic say cant patch it from inside since still got leaking.

Now i am wondering, if i want to change new one, shall i get only one , or to change a pair ?

How big is the metal rod? I have seen big metal rod like those from construction sides pierce thru the tires and still can be patch. Unless the tires shop is small and only do cars only, usually big tire shop and got do lorries 1 can settle it without issue. They got plenty of different size patch pads to cater different situations.

My tyre kena the small size metal rod, about 0.5cm diameter x 8cm long. Initially dint know it, when i found out my tyre ald flat.
It is the dragging that make the hole bigger and jagged edge that they cant patch it.

Thanks for the info.
Where to find those lorry tyre repair shop?

Tire shop you can see lorries park in front doing tire change or big size tires in their store warehouse? All these are clear indications.

Hey, i just went for the repair.
They can do it, and repair in front of me.

Diu, i am almost being a warerfish at previous repair shop. LoL

This one they put a specific gum and larger patch.
Patching 45
Balancing 25
Labour 15.

To my surprise is, after he took off the tag, balancing is as good as no tag at all. Buta2 rm25....
It seems like almost all of the mechanic shops are scammer.
But this one i can comment as incompetent. They can only patch a small hole, for inner tube.

Balancing no choice 1, you cant simply see and feel by hand, need use machine to check. Once up machine need to pay already, but depends on area kampung place maybe still got around RM10/pcs for balancing. Patching & labour cost seems normal.

Does the patch can withstand high heat during long distance drive on highway?

You think the people who invent the tire patch did not consider all possibility? If so easy break down, i think already banned in market.
