What kind of activities or communities should I go so that I can meet more people, know more people and potentially meet my other half?

Dating apps doesn't seemed to work for me, I'm always genuine, you could say I'm a super straight guy. Plus I'm kinda scared of some weirdly enthusiastic girls from China which feels like a scam to me. So I've never met them irl.
For locals,I can understand there are tons of guys getting matched with them no problem, but maybe because of that the girls felt tired of all the bs they have to go through lol.

I'm thinking of joining some sort of sport. Maybe go to church?
I'm definitely an introvert, cause it always felt scary to me when people are overly enthusiastic haha.

church is a big no-no! Especially those shophouse churches, big noooo. Consists of mostly newly converts, so nooo.

Even if you join the Catholic church with a proper building, at least you will meet normal ppl there.

Better suggestion - join Toastmasters Club, get an MBA, get a PhD,

join Reclub it is an App mainly for pickleball, or ClassPass also an App and go join the groups there ........lots of active single girls there!

Pickleball is the best now. loads of opportunities to talk to girls while waiting for your game.

Go take up some course or part time studies. I think it is during these 'school' days people connect more.

met a few and they are kinda nice

there are some genuine china girl who moved here for work but usually when they ask you to go have a drink its mostly scam. If you want protect yourself just go for a coffee or tea
